A beautifully restored, classic motor launch!

This is certainly a rare boat, which was built by Wright & Sons boat builders, we think in the later 1940’s.

Wright & Sons were based in Ipswich, on the banks of the River Gipping, and were building wooden boats from the1930’s through to the 1960’s, on possibly later.

They developed and built the "Twinkle" sailing dinghy, which shares similar design features to this motor launch/dinghy “Dorice”.

Being traditionally build, you can clearly see that "Dorice" was meticulously handcrafted using the finest materials, with a clinker-planked structure.

Then there is the Stuart Turner engine, which is a single cylinder, 1.5hp, 2 stroke petrol engine that was designed for marine use and certainly built to last. In case you are wondering, spares and repairs for these engines is still available from a company called Stuart Turner Bits & Pieces.

“Dorice” has been meticulously restored and kept in the owners garage, which accounts for her immaculate condition.

Perfectly suited for exploring hidden coves and inlets, pottering around in harbours and estuaries, or inland waters and rivers. Wherever you go, she will certainly be a talking point for anyone who sees her.

Complete with a trailer, “Dorice” can be easily launched and recovered, and kept in a garage when not being used.

Viewing of this appealing motor launch/dinghy is highly recommended, and it will be hard to resist!
